Although it was quite expected, fans were still left brokenhearted when Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) died in the seventh season of “The Walking Dead.” Now that he’s gone, viewers are now clamoring to see the former pizza delivery boy once again in the television series.

It looks like people behind the show hear the viewers' cries as the 33-year-old actor teased his possible return. However, he cleared that he would only come back if it fits in the storyline of “The Walking Dead” Season 8.

A fitting return

“I will leave it open to what makes sense,” Steven Yeun said, per Comic Book.

The Korean-American actor explained that he doesn’t want anyone to “force anything” just to make his return possible in “The Walking Dead” Season 8. However, when his appearance is really needed, then he will be definitely on it.

In the comics’ version of the post-apocalyptic horror, Glenn did not appear since its 100th issue.

The television series, on the other hand, has been known for playing flashbacks and dream scenes, featuring late characters returning for an episode or two.

Glenn got kill by Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Lucille in the opening episode of “The Walking Dead” Season 7 on Oct. 23, 2016. Fans who didn’t want to see him go gave up watching the television series while others continued to give their support for perfectly adapting Robert Kirkman's story from its comic book version. Alternatively, Steven Yeun remained mum about his character’s demise and just talked about it at the Walker Stalker Con panel.

Glenn and Abraham’s memories live forever

"The Walking Dead” executive producer Greg Nicotero believes that Glenn and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) never really died.

"Glenn is not dead; Abraham is not dead," he said, via Comic Book.

The 54-year-old special effect makeup artist explained that the spirit of the two characters will definitely live on. Also, knowing that Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) is pregnant with Glenn’s child means his memory lives forever.

Conversely, Abraham’s memory lives on Sasha Willams (Sonequa Martin) and Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos).

Greg Nicotero revealed that there are more stories to tell about what happened to these two much-loved characters.

“So I certainly look at it a little differently," he added. Glenn’s last words, “I’ll find you,” to his partner, Maggie, will even stay forever.

“The Walking Dead” Season 8 will return in October on AMC.
