'What Happened to Monday' is a Science Fiction Movie directed by Tommy Wirkola. Wirkola is known for movies such as 'Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters' and both of the 'Dead Snow' movies. The trailer for the movie was released yesterday. The science fiction thriller has been picked up by Netflix that plans to distribute it later this year in 2017. 'What Happened to Monday' focuses on a world where families are only allowed one child due to overpopulation. However, six sextuplets must stay out of the government's sight while trying to solve the disappearance of one of their own.

Noomi Rapace is to play the seven sisters

Actor Noomi Rapace, best known for her role in 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' and 'Alien: Covenant', will be taking on the roles of seven sisters. In the world that Wirkola has created each family is only allowed to have one child. However, Willem Dafoe is rebelling against this rule by raising seven identical sisters. Noomi Rapace will be playing each of the sisters as they grow up.

The fact that one actor is playing so many roles is a major hook for the movie. Audiences will be driven to watch 'What Happened to Monday' for this exact reason. There is a lot of room for suspicion and secrecy between the twins. It appears as if one of the sisters can be allowed outside the confines of their home on the day they are named after.

This, of course, will lead to jealousy among the sisters and to several instances of mistaken identity or alter egos.

The sisters' father trains the children to take on the persona of Karen Stettman in order to keep them safe. If the government finds out about the seven identical sisters, they will put them into a long term sleep.

Wirkola creates a world full of suspense and tension

Wirkola creates a world where the government and the laws are heavily enforced. One of the sisters is seen with a wrist bracelet that is scanned by a policeman. She is then questioned on whether or not she has any siblings. The children's father is heard in a voice-over as he tells them, wherever they are and whatever they are doing, they can never tell another soul that they have siblings.

The technology in this movie is going to be a huge part of the plot. Monday is seen disappearing on tracking software with the message of "No Signal" popping onto the huge computer screen. The remaining sisters will, then, have to face the dilemma of going outside and looking for their sister at the risk to everyone's lives. However, before they get the chance, the Stettman's secret is revealed and the government appears to have Monday locked up somewhere.

As of yet, there is no confirmed release date for 'What Happened to Monday' but the movie will be released on Netflix sometime in 2017.
