There is a new footage of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) from the “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” circling online. However, it is not part of the behind-the-scene clips revealed by Vanity Fair, but from a fan who managed to sneak a recording.
The video is also shared by the “Star Wars” expert Mike Zeroh on his YouTube channel. In the clip, the Jedi Knight can be seen levitating up in the air along with the huge rock he is standing on while meditating.
Luke’s mysterious levitating scene
In his channel, Zeroh talked about how the said footage will be executed in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” With the help of his sources from the movie’s Pinewood Studio and set in Ireland, he explained what kind of special effects will be used for the levitating scene.
The close-up shots of the hovering rock will just be realistic while the long distance shots will be featured with CGI overlaying.
The movie franchise’s specialist also added that the reworked version of the famous Binary Sunset of John William from the first movie, “Star Wars: A New Hope,” will be featured. Hence, he assumed that Luke will be reminiscing about the time when he was still young and where it all started. Additionally, the levitating scene is believed to be seen at the very start of the eighth episode.
Luke’s costumes and the Sith artifact
Moreover, Daily Express reported that Luke is about to wear three different outfits in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” The first one is the brown and beige robe he is seen wearing at the end of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” It is also the same attire he is sporting in the said levitating scene.
The second one is a black robe that fans first saw in the leaked pictures of the movie.
Lastly, the third one is a costume that includes a pendant with a red cyber crystal. This gem is believed to be a Sith artifact. In fact, there are assumptions that the precious stone is part of Darth Vader’s lightsaber or something that belonged to his father.
As the rock is assumed to be from the dark side, this might be the twin brother's of General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) way to put the balance on both sides of the Force.
Luke's new adventure
Meanwhile, fans are about to see the deeper story of Hamill’s character in the upcoming eighth movie installment. The film promises to continue his journey in a new and different way.
This might give the viewers a hint about what really happened to him following the destruction of the second Death Star and the death of his father, Anakin Skywalker. “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is set to be released on Dec. 15.
