Avid fans of the Adult Swim series are now excited about the upcoming 13 episodes of “Rick and Morty” season 3. In an interview with Y Combinator Podcast, screenwriter Ryan Ridley has confirmed that Bird Person will be making a comeback while viewers will not see Mr. Meeseeks anymore.
Ryan Ridley reveals more spoilers for the third season
Ryan Ridley has shared some juicy details about “Rick and Morty” Season 3. The screenwriter first confirmed that some of the much-loved characters are not going to return to the series like Mr. Meeseeks.
According to Ridley, his team of writers had tried to brainstorm on how they would bring back Mr.
Meeseeks in the series’ third installment. However, they have come up with the idea of exploring a different angle of it.
"We'd want to explore a different aspect of it really. But that's one way to do it, right there, is to show what the inside of a Meeseeks box looks like,” the “Rick and Morty” screenwriter had divulged. “That would have been really cool,” he added.
Inverse shared that fans might be disappointed with this news since Dan Harmon had previously vowed to bring Mr. Meeseeks back in the third season. The series co-creator had told fans that he would force the writers to let the well-loved character make a comeback.
Despite that, other characters would be appearing in the third season of “Rick and Morty." Ryan Ridley had confirmed that Birdperson would return as Phoenix Person in the forthcoming episodes of the third installment.
Blasting News had previously reported that Pickle Rick and Evil Morty are also coming back as fans have badly requested them. Other spoilers also claimed that Jerry and Beth’s divorce would be featured in one of the Season 3 episodes.
Series creators not in good terms caused delays
Meanwhile, The Inquisitr reported that Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland might not be on good terms right now after the former claimed that they had been fighting all the time.
Harmon told fans during the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year that he was one of the reasons behind the delay of “Rick and Morty” Season 3.
Dan Harmon added that it became harder for them to write the third installment, which caused the failure to air “Rick and Morty” in 2016. The series creator added that he stopped giving details about the show’s upcoming season so the creative team could focus more on writing the scripts.
“Rick and Morty” Season 3 Episode 2 is expected to be released in July 2017. Stay tuned for more spoilers, news, and updates!
