The first two episodes of season 19 of "Big Brother" aired this past Wednesday and Thursday. The season kicked off with a 2-hour season premiere on Wednesday night. Julie Chen was back to host the summer reality show and to welcome the 16 new houseguests into the "Big Brother" home. This season's houseguests range in age from 21 to 55-years-old.

Let the summer fun begin

The theme for this season of "Big Brother" is Temptation. For those who are familiar with the show, there is always the catchphrase of "expect the unexpected," and this summer is no different.

In the very first episode, it was announced that a former contestant on the show would be returning to the "Big Brother" house to compete with the other houseguests for a chance at $500,000.

Shortly into episode one, Paul Abrahamian entered the house, shocking all of the other contestants. Paul was in season 18 of "Big Brother" and made it all the way to the final two, but ended up losing to Nicole Franzel. Speaking of Nicole, she made her way back into the house also during episode two but was only there to host the first Head Of Household competition.

Back to episode one, no time was wasted, and one of the "Big Brother" houseguests were sent packing. The honor of the first person eliminated went to 24-year-old microbiologist Cameron Heard.

Heard was admittedly a super-fan of the show and describes himself as persistent, driven, and smart. As a contestant and longtime fan of "Big Brother," Heard had to have felt devastated when he was named the first one out.

Head of Household

The first big competition of the season was the Head of Household (HOH) comp which took place during episode two.

Whoever wins a HOH competition in "Big Brother" gets to choose two people to put on the block. Those two people are then at risk of being evicted from the house and sent home, ending their chance at winning the $500,000 grand prize.

Cody Nickson won the first Head of Household competition, and with that, he decided to nominate Megan Lowder, a 28-year-old dog walker from Phoenix, AZ and Jillian Parker, a 24-year-old timeshare sales rep living in Las Vegas.

Head of Household Cody is 32-years-old and a former Marine. After his time in the service, he became a construction sales rep and lives in Plano, TX.

This Sunday, July 2, is when fans will learn who will be the second person evicted from the house. "Big Brother" will air on CBS on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
