It can be recalled that the character of Esposito received two mysterious calls from her mom in the finale episode of the “NCIS” Season 14. This, then, pushed fans to speculate that the calls could be a hint that Alex Quinn’s involvement on the show will soon be over.

"It was a great experience," Jennifer Esposito said, confirming that she would not appear in the forthcoming “NCIS” Season 15 anymore. "I could not have asked for a better opportunity than to work with the NCIS cast and producers."

Initially, Special Agent Alexandra “Alex” Quinn was a character conceptualized by the late Gary Glasberg, who shockingly passed away before the airing of the show’s Season 14, Deadline shared. It is said that the new showrunner, including the writers and producers, are planning to take “NCIS” Season 15 into a different direction; hence, Esposito’s stint has been concluded.

Before Jennifer Esposito, other regular casts like Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, and Cote de Pablo have also left the show for some personal reasons. Due to the departure of the main characters, fans cannot help but speculate that “NCIS” Season 15 could be the series’ final installment.
