Despite having been divorced for months and separated for a year, Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's marriage is still the subject of scrutiny by the public. NBA player Odom has a legion of fans, and the same can be said for Kardashian, whose reality TV empire has helped propel her entrepreneurial endeavors. The pair married in 2009, but Odom's struggle with drug abuse helped drive a wedge between him and his wife.

Kardashian filed for a divorce in December 2013 and was only finalized three years later. In October of 2015, Odom was found on the brink of death in a Nevada brothel after an overdose.

His health issues did not stop the divorce proceedings, however, and the pair pushed through with the divorce. Most recently, Odom is doing better, but his daughter Destiny Odom is now speaking out about her father's troubled past.

Destiny Odom calls her father's marriage to Khloe Kardashian 'toxic'

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the 17-year old aspiring fashion designer and daughter to Lamar Odom, Destiny spoke out about how her and her family's lives changed when Khloe Kardashian entered the picture in 2009. The teen admitted that "things were a lot more public" thanks to the reality series "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," and her father and Khloe also had their own struggles to deal with.

She said, "Their relationship is very toxic."

Kardashian and Odom deal with fertility issues

On top of Lamar Odom's struggle with drug addiction, his marriage to Good American founder Khloe Kardashian was also littered with fertility issues. Odom, who had three children from a previous marriage, lost his youngest son to sudden infant death syndrome in 2006.

Odom and Kardashian's struggle to have children of their own was chronicled in "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," and it became clear that it was Kardashian who had problems bearing children. However, Kardashian is now speaking up and saying that there was nothing wrong with her at the time, and she was just faking trying to get pregnant.

Reality TV star didn't want to have children with Odom

In the preview for tonight's episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," Khloe said, When I was doing my fertility treatments, they were more so for Lamar. I had to stop because there was much deeper stuff that was happening in our marriage. I knew that it wasn't the right situation to bring a child into, and I think I've done a lot of covering up for him, like even when it made me look like I was the problem." This is indicative that she has the capacity to bear children, was just hesitant to do so with Odom. Watch the Season 13 finale of 'KUWTK" tonight on E! at 9 p.m.
