No, it was not the end for Hannah Baker when she killed herself during the first run of "13 Reasons Why." In fact, the brains behind the controversial series assured viewers would get to see more of Katherine Langford's character in the second season of the Netflix drama.

'13 Reasons Why' Season 2: A look at a lot of things

Brian Yorkey admitted a lot of people have been asking him on what more to expect from the second installment after the main character's death. The EP, during a Netflix event, revealed "13 Reasons Why" Season 2 will explore the character arcs of those who received Hannah Baker's tapes.

He assured viewers would get to see the perspective of these characters regarding the teenager's suicide. "Hannah told her version of the events," Yorkey explained. "But there are at least 12 kids that have another version of those events that we haven't really heard from yet."

The show's EP, however, clarified that the idea does not imply that Langford's character was lying about her claims on the tapes. The "13 Reasons Why" boss said the first season was all about Hannah's version of the story, while the upcoming installment will look into other characters' perspective of the narrative.

Yorkey revealed the sophomore run of the Netflix series would feature a more complex storyline, adding that viewers will see a more "complicated" Hannah in the second season.

He also promised to look into Clay Jensen and Olivia Baker's life after losing a loved one.

Who's coming back?

Langford will surely return to reprise her role as Hannah Baker in "13 Reasons Why" Season 2. Joining her for the second installment are Dylan Minette (Clay), Kate Walsh (Olivia), Brian d'Arcy James (Andy), Amy Hargreaves (Lainie), Josh Hamilton (Matt), and some of her schoolmates who played a key role in Hannah's death.

In a previous interview, Yorkey hinted at the possibility of revealing the real cause of the teenager's suicide. The EP also revealed that the new season will feature a trial, but refused to spill furthers on what the case was all about. It could be Bryce's assault against Jessica and Hannah, but who knows?

The showrunner even promised to drop more shocking revelations in the upcoming installment not only about Hannah's death but also about the dark secrets of these recurring characters. The Netflix series has yet to announce the official release date of the second season at the moment of writing. Stay tuned for more updates about "13 Reasons Why" Season 2.
