Winter is here, and Season 7 is upon us. "Game of Thrones" is expected to return to much fanfare, and already we could feel the anticipation for all the epic scenes and moments that are about to grace us in the upcoming seventh season.

Queen vs. Queen

Of course, large battles are expected, especially since the sixth season teased that a great war to end all wars is going to be decided in this latest season. Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen crosses the sea with her Dothraki, Unsullied, and of course, her dragons. We know Cersei Lannister, being the de facto ruler in King's Landing currently, would also be as prepared for the threats in her assumed superiority.

Folks over at The Hollywood Reporter gave us the lowdown on what to expect on the upcoming battles. They reported that both queens above would be out to battle it out for supremacy— Cersei will try to maintain her reign, and Daenerys will be retaking what in her mind is "rightfully hers."

Both queens are "at the height of their power," and to be honest, these are two of the most dangerous characters on the show. It will also be the first time that a clash of this magnitude will happen, with two of the strongest characters representing two of the biggest factions on the series. They promise something greater than the Jon Snow-Ramsay Bolton war, and it's hard not to believe.

A fight that will be fought with spears, swords, horses, and dragons

While in Belfast witnessing the shoot of a "Game of Thrones" episode, Daniel D'Addario of TIME Magazine jokingly said that "The battle for Westeros may be won or lost on the back of a lime green mechanical bull." He was referring to the mechanical prop that Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) stood on for 16 days on-set— a prop that is supposed to represent the Targaryen dragons.

Whose side will Jon Snow be on?

What's more, we will also see Jon Snow's role in all of this. There were plenty of hints saying that Snow is actually a Targaryen. Official confirmation via the series itself would be just a formality now; everyone expects that Snow's Targaryen lineage will be revealed to him this season.

Now, the question is, how would he act upon this information?

Will he stand by Daenerys and forge a formidable alliance? Or will he stand by his sworn oath and protect the North — and the rest of the Seven Kingdoms — against any and all "outside threat"?

Either way, it'll be an interesting decision. Catch "Game of Thrones'" Season 7 on HBO, airing this July.
