The summer reality show and guilty pleasure to many, "Bachelor in Paradise," is full of drama. Usually, the drama begins a couple of weeks into the show, but this season, the drama began only three days into filming. It was an unprecedented occurrence that caused production to halt and an investigation to ensue. Contestants were sent home from their paradise in Mexico, and many believed that the show would be canceled.
Olympios and Jackson
Season 4 of "Bachelor in Paradise" originally began filming in Mexico in early June. A sexual encounter took place between two of the cast members who were highly intoxicated and one of the producers filed a complaint.
After the complaint was filed, production was suspended and all of the cast members were sent home. On June 20 after an investigation by Warner Bros., it was decided that no misconduct took place and the show would go on.
The crew of "Bachelor in Paradise" and host Chris Harrison are back in Mexico getting ready to resume filming. The cast members are on their way as well and filming will begin in the next couple of days.
The sexual encounter that shut down the set took place between Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson. Olympios, who is from Miami, FL, was a contestant on the last season of "The Bachelor." 30-year-old Jackson was a contestant on the current season of "The Bachelorette." Neither Olympios or Jackson will be returning to Mexico to compete in "Bachelor in Paradise," but all of the other contestants are coming back.
According to TMZ, things are going to be a little bit more "controlled" on the "Bachelor in Paradise" set. All of the contestants will have their bags checked by production and any prescription medications and over the counter medications will be taken by production and given to a nurse. The nurse will dispense the medications to the contestants when needed.
Cast of Season 4
Some of the female cast members who will be making their way back to Mexico include Raven Gates, Amanda Stanton, Lacey Mark, Taylor Nolan, Alexis Waters, Kristina Schulman, Jasmine Goode, and Danielle Maltby. Some of the men returning to "Bachelor in Paradise" are Ben Zorn, Derek Peth, Robby Hayes, Nick Benvenutti, Alex Woytkiw, and Vinny Ventiera.
Originally filming was set to end on June 27, but with the delay that occurred, filming will now run until July 5. Season 4 of "Bachelor in Paradise" will kick off on ABC on Tuesday, August 8.
