"The Blacklist" is finally renewed for Season 5 which will be premiered later this year. NBC made it official that the forthcoming season will have 22 new episodes. Meanwhile, fans need not worry about losing their FBI task force since NBC has picked up new installment for the series. On the other hand, there is no official decision yet whether "The Blacklist: Redemption" spin-off is still returning for a follow-up season

NBC ordered 22 episodes for the series

Following the standard number of episode for the series, NBC has picked up 22 episodes for its fifth installment.

Apparently, "The Blacklist" season 4 finale is just a week away from the revelation of Mr. Kaplan's revenge. It has been stated that its season finale will reveal the real relationship between Raymond Reddington and Elizabeth Keen. It also hinted that Keen's mother is having a secret affair with Reddington which will clear out some issues about who's going to be her real father.

Further, the Season 4 ending is also expected to throw certain twists in the story that might lead to something huge in season 5. Perhaps, with three more episodes left in the current season, it will be safe to say that Keen and Reddington's connection will play a big part in the story of season 5. As the series continues, it will eventually lead to the answers as to who's the person behind Liz, if not Mr.

Kaplan.

'The Blacklist' is NBC's popular series since premiere

This series which starred James Spader and Megan Boone has been a runaway hit since it debuted its first season in fall 2013. The first season made solid ratings and immediately after the finale, "The Blacklist" was relocated to Thursday airings for its sophomore run.

It continually improves NBC's performance on Thursdays as the series made its ratings in the move. Moreover, it also inspired the spin-off series, "The Blacklist: Redemption" which is yet to be announced for the second season. Further, the parent series remains solid to its viewers which made them gained an average of 5.3 million viewers in season 4.

The series has been proudly produced by Davis Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television in association with Universal Television. In addition to Spader and Boone, it also stars Diego Klattenhoff, Ryan Eggold, Harry Lennix, Amir Arison, Mozhan Marno, and Hisham Tawfiq.
