Rachel Lindsay appeared on "Good Morning America" on Monday, May 22. At the time, she opened up about her journey to find love as the first black bachelorette. She told viewers she was allowed to say she was engaged; however, she wasn't allowed to say who the lucky guy is. In fact, she emphasized that no one will find out until the season's finale.

Even for those who watch the reality show from the beginning, they will be surprised with her selection. She encouraged fans of "The Bachelorette" to follow her on her journey because she did find love and is very happy.

Diverse group of suitors

This season of "The Bachelorette" will be more diverse than ever before. Lindsay said she is responsible for that. She told the producers she would be willing to date and marry those outside her race because she doesn't have a particular type.

Therefore, there will be a diverse group of suitors competing for Lindsay's attention.

When asked if the show will be different this season, the star of the series told "Good Morning America" that she is expecting to attract a difference audience since this is the first thing a black person has been the star of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" franchise.

The attorney gave the viewers a tease about her suitors. She mentioned that she was the camp leader for one of the men. She recognized him as soon as he stepped out of the limo. Another person came in as Steve Urkel and came back a second time as Stefan Urquelle. Both parts were played by Jaleel White on the sitcom "Family Matters" that aired on television for nine seasons.

The suitors came from all over the United States and Canada. It is interesting that three are from Rachel's hometown of Dallas, Texas. Out of the three, one is also an attorney who is the same age as Lindsay. So, they have a lot in common. The ages of the others range from 26 to 35. They have some interesting occupations such as a tickle monster, a Whaboom and an inspiring drummer.
