Priyanka Chopra is set to play a single mother in her second Hollywood movie, “A Kid like Jake.”

With the passage of time, the Bollywood actress has gained global recognition. First, she appeared in American series, “Quantico,” followed by her mega-budget film “Baywatch.” And now, Priyanka is ready for another Hollywood film titled “A Kid like Jake.” She is reportedly negotiating the project with the filmmaker and other cast members.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chopra will play a single mother in “A Kid like Jake,” alongside Octavia Spencer, Jim Parsons, and Claire Danes.

The movie is based on a novel of the same name by GI Joe, and about a couple, Greg Wheeler (Parsons) and Alex (Danes), who wants to see their son, Jake, on the peaks of success. After finishing his graduation, Jake develops an interest in his matter, Cinderella, but the parents want him to focus on his career.

If Chopra is finalized in the film, she will play the couple’s friend and a single mother, Amal, who tries to resolve the problems of Jake’s life and owns a dating website. Produced by Paul Barron, “A Kid like Jake” is expected to release in December 2019 or January 2020. According to Barron’s latest tweet, PeeCee will direct and write the film.

The producer says that it’ll be exciting to work with Priyanka Chopra, Jim Claire, and Octavia Spencer.

However, it’s too early to reveal the names of other cast members. For now, the film is in pre-production, and regular shooting will begin next month.

‘Quantico’ – the famous television show

“Quantico” is a famous American sitcom created by Joshua Safran. It premiered on ABC in September 2015 and produced by ABC Studios, with Mark Gordon serving as executive producer.

Priyanka Chopra plays an FBI recruit, Alex Parrish, who completes her studies from the FBI Academy and applies for a job at an agency. Other cast members are Jake McLaughlin, Tate Ellington, Johanna Braddy, Graham Rogers, Yasmine Al Massri, Aunjanue Ellis, Anabella Acosta and Josh Hopkins.

In the second season, Pearl Thusi, Blair Underwood, Russell Tovey, and Aaron Diaz were added to the main cast.

Initially, the network ordered only thirteen episodes, but later it picked up the full show due to its tremendous success. On March 3, 2016, the channel renewed the series for another season, starring Priyanka Chopra in a leading character.

“Quantico” received excellent reviews from television critics. The review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes has reported an 81% approval rating based on 56 critics. On Metacritic, it holds a score of 68 out of 100 based on 20 reviews.
