Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first public event appearance on Saturday as the prince played at the Audi Polo Challenge. They were spotted sharing a kiss and an embrace after the event, fueling the engagement rumors.

Meghan cheers for Harry at a polo match

"Suits" actress Meghan watched Prince Harry play polo at a charity event. She was seen cheering for the prince, along with Mark Dyer, Harry's second father and mentor. This was the first time that the couple was seen together at a public event, ever since their relationship was confirmed back in November.

After the event, Markle and Prince Harry were photographed at a parking lot, where Meghan put her arm on her boyfriend's side, who in turn leaned in for a kiss. They also shared a loving embrace.

Engagement imminent?

This public outing prompts the rumors again that Meghan and Harry are getting engaged soon and a royal wedding is in the works. Their appearance together at the event comes two weeks before the wedding of Kate Middleton's younger sister Pippa Middleton to millionaire James Matthews. While Pippa reportedly employs the "no ring, no bring" policy to keep the event more intimate, Markle allegedly got exempted.

The rule meant that no girlfriends or boyfriends are allowed, only official couples who are married or engaged.

Other signs that the couple is getting engaged, according to Observer, include Markle shutting down her blog, which she kept running for three years. Earlier last month, Meghan officially closed her fashion blog, without actually giving any explanation why.

She just bid farewell and thanked her fans, contributors, and readers for sharing her passion and building a community of inspiration and fun. Some speculate that this has something to do with her preparation to enter royal life, where she can't just release statements on her own.

Rumors also say that Meghan is a frequent visitor at Kensington Palace -- so much so that she is able to bypass all the stringent security protocols.

She is that welcome to the royal family that she can come and go freely. There are also words that she's moving in with Prince Harry in England.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were confirmed as a couple in November through a Kensington Palace statement. The statement was actually in relation to the concerns for the American star's safety as she experienced harassment from the press and social media trolls. A statement of this kind is unusual, to say the least, so perhaps their engagement will be announced in a similarly unconventional way.
