One of the most anticipated updates related to "Pokemon GO" is the upcoming arrival of the legendary creatures. After Mathieu de Fayet, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Niantic, confirmed the introduction of the Legendary Pokemon, expectations and speculations have not ceased. The confirmation of the major update coming to "Pokemon GO" for this summer has not only generated excitement from players around the world, but it has also generated further speculation among fans and players. While we do know that the legendary creatures are coming, there has been no official release date confirmed by the company.

Next, we provide an answer to one of the burning questions that has been making the rounds prior to the arrival of the Legendary Pokemon in "Pokemon GO."

Which Legendary Pokemon will be released first?

It is obvious that the launch of these creatures has to be taken into account by the developers of Niantic because there are several generations of Legendary Pokemon, and it is highly unlikely that they will release all of them at one time. It is very likely that the Legendary Birds will be launched first because Pokemon teams are practically based on them. Then, the Mew family would likely be released later, since the first trailer teasing the release focused on these Pokemon. Ho-Oh would likely be the generation released after these two generations because they appeared in the first episode of the main series.

There is still no confirmed date regarding when the Legendary Beasts (Lugia and Celebi) will be launched. Below, we list the potential order of release for these creatures.

  • Legendary Birds (Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres)
  • Mew family (Mew and Mewtwo)
  • Legendary Beasts (Raikou, Entei, and Suicune)
  • Tower Duo (Ho-Oh and Lugia)
  • Celebi

Additional information

In addition, if the legendary birds are unique in the same way that the shiny Pokemon are, Niantic will likely push gym battles to make them appear.

That's the first way to encourage people to fight for gyms and take them down. Also, limiting the amount of the same Pokemon per gym will help remove any stagnation as it relates to gameplay. With these two options, they will encourage players to unite and work together to find the creatures through gym battles, and capture them for their own collection.

This is all the information known so far. Keep enjoying the game, and stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
