“Once Upon A Time” Season 6 has ended and, as expected, it opens a new story for the recently renewed “Once Upon a Time” Season 7. As the tale of Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) comes to a close, the chronicle of the newly series regular Andrew J. West, who plays the role of Henry, is about to begin.
Everything will be back to zero as Henry along with his long-lost daughter Lucy (Alison Fernandez) is going to save their family. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the show’s showrunner Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis talked about the new installment coming and what fans can expect.
An upcoming epic love story
Kitsis agreed that “Once Upon a Time” Season 7 is a kind of reboot as they are about to tell the new story of Henry. On the contrary, Horowitz doesn’t want to use the word “reboot” as he wants to consider the next chapter as a “hybrid of a lot of things.” “We’re paying homage to the original premise, he said.
The only difference is there will be important characters that will be leaving the show, but there are also significant characters that are going to return and stay. Hence, Kitsis revealed that there might be a possibility that they will be recasting some of the characters as adults.
Horowitz, on the other hand, insisted that they still want to keep things under wraps regarding Henry’s growing up stage.
They, too, is being tight-lipped what does his coming means to the original series regulars Regina (Lana Parrilla), Hook (Colin O'Donoghue), and Rumple (Robert Carlyle).
As Henry has a daughter, fans are now questioning who Lucy’s mother is. Although Kitsis doesn’t want to spill the beans, he said that fans are going to witness an epic love story of Prince Charming’s grandchild and his pair that will be true to the show’s traditional theme.
Returning original characters
Moreover, Horowitz teased that there will be more big revelations coming summer about “Once Upon a Time” Season 7. Some of them will be more about the coming series regulars and returning characters. It has been said that Morrison is going to return for one episode, but fans can expect to see more of their beloved stars as everyone said that they are willing to be back.
Horowitz explained that the longtime characters of “OUAT” will still be part of the show’s universe, thus there is a big possibility that fans will see different people return at various times. Although the show’s viewers are upset as six regulars are leaving, they are going to make it up to them by sticking to the television series’ original theme and continue to deliver what people have loved about them.
