Hey, "Riverdale" fans. We're very happy to report that The CW has indeed renewed your favorite show for a brand new season 2! So, go ahead and crack open your champagne bottles now. Also, if that weren't enough, we've also, already gotten a hold of some season 2 spoiler scoops to share with you guys, direct from some of the cast members and producers.

Early renewal

First, we want to go over the renewal details. Apparently, it was lumped in with those pack of shows that got an early renewal way back in early March 2017. It averaged 1.2 million viewers per episode, ranking just behind Supernatural for a non-superhero show.

It also got a huge bump in DVR playbacks with the ages: 18-34 demographics.

Marisol Nichols said something

Ok, so getting into the spoilery intel for season 2, we're hearing from the econotimes.com that Hermione Lodge star, Marisol Nichols, gave up a little teaser information, saying that we're going to see another case mystery go down in the new season and that they will, of course, explore a lot of other storylines. She also teased that the big, new mystery should be set up in the season 1 finale episode 13 that's set to air tonight.

Next, they got a statement from the producer, Robert Aguirre-Sacasa, that sounds very interesting and could be the big mystery of season 2. He mentioned that we should remember that we didn't see Clifford hang himself in episode 12.

We just saw him hanging there, implying that there could be more to his hanging than meets the eye. Also, since he said he we should commit that to memory, it's definitely a hint that this could be something they're going to try to further explore.

Full destruction mode

The people over at bustle.com are reporting that Cheryl Blossom actress, Madelaine Petsch, delivered a season 2 scoop, letting us know that we're going to see Archie go completely off the deep end at some point!

He's going to really go into full destruction mode, describing it as a "No holds barre" situation, so that sounds very interesting. Also , Luke Perry, who plays Archie's father, Fred, chimed in to say that Archie's story is really going to go gnarly deep end and that he's surprised by it!

Entire trajectory is going to change

Then we heard from the Archie portrayer, himself, KJ Apa. He revealed that the entire trajectory of Archie's life is going to change. He's going to be faced with some challenges. There's going to be a lot more emotional things going on with him. Jason's murder is going to actually play a huge part in Archie's season 2 spiral.

Currently, we don't know how many episodes that CW will order for season 2. Maybe we'll just get another 13 episodes, but I'm certainly hoping for a full 22 episodes. I really enjoyed this show and wasn't sure if I would before I started watching. More details on the number of episodes, should get revealed in the next month or two, so be sure to be on the lookout for those. Stay tuned.
