Hey, "The Flash" fans. We've got super great news for you guys. Your favorite show was renewed for a brand new season 4, and it happened super early, like way back in January 2017, so The CW definitely had great confidence in it. According to our TV Line.com sources, the big announcement occurred at the 2017 Television Critics Association winter press tour. During that time, they also revealed that their others shows: "Jane the Virgin," "Supernatural," "Arrow," DC’s "Legends of Tomorrow", "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" and "Supergirl" were early renewed too.

Proven performers

We also heard from The CW big boss, Mark Pedowitz, at this event. He said these shows are proven performers, and they renewed them early to give the producers time to plan ahead for their new seasons and establish a solid base to build on.

It's reported that "The Flash" is currently one of CW's top shows, averaging a 1.2 demo rating and more than 3 million viewers a week. "Supergirl" actually follows in behind them with a 0.9 demo rating and 2.7 million viewers a week. This great renewal news, definitely means that you guys can expect to see new spoilers, cast interviews, preview clips and photos, and all that great stuff in the future weeks and months.

Different main villain

Actually, speaking of new spoilers, we were able to already track one down for the new "Flash" season 4.

According to TV Line, producer, Andrew Kreisberg, let one fly at the recent Paleyfest event back in March 2017, telling the press that the next season will not feature a speedster as the Big Bad. That's a very important statement, because now that I think about it, that's actually been the theme of all the seasons. The main villain has been some sort of speedster.

Well, you can look for that to change in season 4.

Andrew didn't reveal anymore beyond that point, so that's all that we've got for now. However, we do expect to see some new teasers as early as possibly, tomorrow, after tonight's big finale episode 22 gets done airing. The media outlets usually hound the producers for initial teasers for the new seasons after the finale episodes, so be on the lookout for some new intel later this week, for sure.

Late June or early July

Currently, there are no details about how many episodes season 4 will feature or a premiere date. It's way too early for that. That important intel usually arrives around late June or early July, so definitely start looking for it around that time. The new seasons usually start filming in mid-July. Actually, sometimes, they can start as early as the beginning of July. We should certainly be seeing the cast and crew, hit up the big 2017 Comic-Con event in mid to late July to dish out more scoops, so that's something to get excited about. Stay tuned.
