Katy Perry released her new music video entitled "Bon Appetit" on May 12. Back to the days where she changed her hair and the incident that sparked rage among people on the internet, she released a new music video that contains a hidden message. For open-minded fans, the message was quite clear. Otherwise, it was just another fuel for sexual desires.
The video shows the "Thinking of You" singer being packaged and wrapped inside a plastic. Moments later, a group of chefs enters to remove the packaging from Katy. After removing the packaging, Katy is sent to the cooking area where the chefs sprinkled her flour and massaged her.
Of course, one of the chefs slapped her bare butt. It is a little more over-the-top than some are used to, but it is definitey something Perry can pull off.
The weirdness does not stop there
The longer the video goes on, the weirder it gets. After Katy's massage with flour, she is then poured into the pot with boiling water. While the chefs drop ingredients and stir the soup, Katy continues to sing her message throughout the video. Next, Katy is then chopped, baked, and served while guests waited for their meal. "Bon Appetit" is currently the 26th trending on YouTube with more than 10 million views and counting.
Probably a new music genre
Katy may have presented a new music taste to her fans. Unlike her songs before, "Bon Appetit" is another field that she tackled.
The said music video clearly contains a hidden message that was hinted at the last part of the video. Girls are not toys, which some people failed to comprehend.
She was clear on her message and had something to convey to the world. Focusing on the hashtag "sexual liberation," it is the anchor that cleared the confusion. The hashtag clearly talks about gender equality and respect toward women.
As always, the "Chained to the Rhythm" singer made another piece for fans to ponder. This may be the most controversial piece from Perry. That isn't saying much considering she is one of the most "out there" artists.
