Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics doesn't have any problems showing off the new looks of the superheroes that will be appearing in their upcoming superhero team-up film, "Justice League." However, aside from Lex Luthor, who already appeared in the previous installment, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," there hasn't been any material that has been released to show how the villains in the upcoming movie will look like.
Clues from accompanying merchandise tie-ins
Similar to other popular franchises, the first glimpse of new characters are more often than not seen through its accompanying merchandises.
The first look at new superheroes usually don't come from official images, photographs, videos, or trailers, but usually through their action figures and various toys. These products, of course, have to be made ahead of time so that they can be shipped during the release of the movies they are based on.
Leaked images of Steppenwolf in LEGO form
This is apparently also the case for "Justice League," as leaked pictures of the franchise's LEGO tie-in has now revealed the look of the movie's Main Antagonist, Steppenwolf. The toy itself doesn't really show the actual look of the character, but it does give fans an idea of his overall design. The toy itself looks to be much larger than the other action figures, which means that he might be portrayed as a hulking being when compared to regular humans and the members of the Justice League.

Darkseid is coming
Steppenwolf, who will be portrayed by Ciarán Hinds in the upcoming film, will, of course, be just the tip of the iceberg.
The super villain is the leader of the military of Apokolips, and his appearance usually heralds the arrival of his nephew, Darkseid. However, based on the trailer and other clues, fans will likely not be seeing Darkseid in the upcoming movie, but Warner Bros. is building up to his arrival.
"Justice League" will mainly be focusing on the formation of the team right after Superman's "death." Batman, played by Ben Affleck, along with Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, will be gathering all the metahumans they can find to prepare for the arrival of Steppenwolf and his army of parademons and the eventual arrival of Darkseid.
The movie also stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 17.
