The slew of brand new teaser trailer videos and images have recently ignited the anticipation and hype for the upcoming superhero movie, "Justice League." The new promotional media gave fans a glimpse of what to expect, including shots of the main characters in the Justice League. However, some eagle-eyed fans may have spotted some clues in the recently released footage that may indicate the appearance of other superheroes.

High-flying JLA members

A recent theory has just now popped up in the Reddit forums, which is based on the recently released trailers.

During a scene showing off the previous age of heroes, fans can clearly see an epic battle waged between the forces of Darkseid and the Amazons. Upon closer inspection, some fans apparently spotted something peculiar in the background.

In several screenshots of the trailer, it can clearly be seen that there are two winged humanoids in the background fighting against the Parademons. It is also clearly seen that the two flying object are equipped with different wing types, unlike the gunmetal-colored ones on the Parademons. Fans were then quick to deduce that the two beings could very be Hawkman and Hawkgirl.

How both superheroes fit into the DC Universe

The Justice League, or also known as the Justice League of America, was originally comprised of Batman, Aquaman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

However, more heroes joined the team in the following years, including Hawkgirl and Hawkman. The origin story of both characters have changed in their different comic book iterations, but both of them have been featured to be members of the Justice League in different media outside of comics.

Chances of the theory being true

The upcoming "Justice League" movie will be introducing a lot of characters that are relatively brand new in the DC Extended Universe. Given this fact, a good portion of the film will likely be used to introduce them. The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman's background have yet to be fully explained, which means that it might be hard to allocated parts of the film for new superheroes. However, given the gravity of the screenshots, it might be possible that both Hawkman and Hawkgirl may get a cameo appearance that could lead to their introduction in future "Justice League" films.
