Lights, camera, action! The "2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards" edition arrive on televisions around the country on Sunday Night. This year's edition of MTV's annual movie awards won't be just about films, but also television. In addition, MTV is changing things up by having men and women compete in their "Best Actor" category. The 2017 awards show will also be featured on more channels than just MTV. Here's the latest on how to watch tonight's movie awards live on television or live streaming online.

Awards show details

Actor Adam Devine will handle the hosting duties for the latest installment of MTV's Awards Show.

Devine has starred in the two "Pitch Perfect" movies as well as other comedies such as "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates" and "Neighbors." Among the performers scheduled for the night are hip hop stars Pitbull and Big Sean as well as Noah Cyrus, J. Balvin and Camila Cabello.

At tonight's movie and television awards show, "Get Out," has six nominations including Movie of the Year. The horror film directed by comedian/actor Jordan Peele also has actor Daniel Kaluuya up for the Next Generation Star award. For television, the Netflix show "Stranger Things" is up for four total nominations including the Best Villain nominee, the Demogorgon.

While there are a number of awards with winners already decided, as of this report, there was at least one award left for fans to vote on.

These included the "Best Musical Moment" which fans could vote for on the Musical.ly app for Android and iOS mobile devices. Nominees include Justin Timberlake for "Can't Stop the Feeling" from the movie "Trolls" and the song "City of Stars" by actors Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone from "La La Land." The latter of these choices won the best song at the Oscars several months ago.

The latest awards show is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday night from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. Viewers can watch the "2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards" show on four different channels. They include MTV, Spike, Comedy, TVLand, and VH1.

Anyone with a high speed internet connection can also watch tonight's show live streaming for free online.

To do so, one has to sign up for the one-week free trial of Sling TV which offers two different channel packages, Sling Orange and Sling Blue. Sling Orange includes Comedy Central as one of its channels, which will have the awards show on it.
