After Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were revealed to be an item, many have been waiting for the couple’s engagement and a new royal wedding. Now that Pippa Middleton is getting married and the said pair is about to attend, there are looming rumors that they are next.
Since the 35-year-old actress announced that she was going to shut down her lifestyle blog “The Tig,” many expect that she will be engaged to Prince Harry of Wales. To add fuel to the fire, her boyfriend was even spotted visiting her in Toronto before Easter came.
The prince in Toronto
Prince Harry made an effort to visit his girlfriend in Toronto by skipping the traditional royal Easter celebration. They should have attended the mass at St. George’s chapel at Windsor castle with Queen Elizabeth II. Of course, Kate Middleton, Prince William, and other royals were there to celebrate the event.
Signs of engagement
Eager fans also saw other signs that hint that there will be an engagement happening. According to reports, the “Horrible Bosses” star already cut ties with Reitmans, a Canadian clothing brand, which she endorsed and even designed two collections for. Some say that this is a sign of her preparation to move to London by leaving her affiliations properly.
There are also reports that Meghan and Prince Harry are going to attend Pippa’s marriage to James Matthews on May 20 at St. Mark’s Church. But as part of royal protocol, she can’t be allowed to witness the wedding vows, as she is still not yet engaged or married.
It has been said that unmarried and unengaged couples are prohibited from joining the ceremony.
However, she will be fully allowed to come to the reception in the evening that doesn’t apply the same rules. In fact, she already prepared for this by asking for a week off from filming her television series “Suits” from May 15 to 22.
This, too, proves how serious the couple’s relationship is. Then again, the palace has yet to comment on the engagement rumors.
As a matter of fact, a source told Vanity Fair that Meghan’s show will actually be on hiatus at that time.
Meghan not invited to the wedding
Meanwhile, founder and director of Beaumont Etiquette Myka Meier told People that there is actually no no-ring-no-bring rule for the wedding. But, Meghan might not really get the invite to attend the event as Pippa is said to be eying an intimate gathering with only a few people.
“I would not be surprised if Prince Harry was not given a plus one, as the wedding guest list would have most likely been made in the fall of last year when Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan was not as public,” she explained.
