Two months before “Game of Thrones” Season 7 finally hit the TV screens; fans are still casting their predictions and theories what will be the show’s future is. Viewers perfectly know how wild the fan-made assumptions are about the show can be. In fact, some of them are true.
The latest speculation about the coming new chapter is the return of Hodor (Kristian Nairn). Although everyone believed that the role of the 41-year-old star died in the previous season, no one saw his dead body.
Nairn hints Hodor’s return
In fact, in an interview with Belfast Telegraph, Nairn hinted that his assumed demise might not be the last time fans saw the gentle giant.
However, there might be no other way for him to return but as “an instrument of evil.” “As a fan, I'm not sure I would love that, but as an actor, I would love that,” he said. He even considered playing as a villain in “Game of Thrones” Season 7 would be so much fun.
The famous DJ even teased that Hodor might not be dead and just wandering around. “Maybe he's just roaming around [sic] the countryside eating berries like a grizzly bear!" he joked. As the interviewer tried not to entertain his comical answers, he then was asked if he would turn as a White Walker. Nairn explained that he wanted to say no, but he might be caught lying. He, then, just said that he couldn't just give any details easily as he accidentally did it once and the consequences were not good.
A White Walker possibility
This is not the first time that Nairn hinted that Hodor would be back after his sensational death in the previous season. He even claimed that the demise of his characters might have been just greatly exaggerated. In a different interview with Entertainment Weekly, he uttered that the interesting part of his death was it was left open.
As no one saw him died, it might mean that it implied something. Hence, he said that there was a significant possibility that he might return as a White Walker or maybe he just simply got away, which was quite impossible.
A sign of the gentle giant’s comeback
To support the claims that Hodor will, indeed, return in “Game of Thrones” Season 7, Nairn was seen wearing his trademark costume as the gentle giants in a new HBO promo titled “It’s What Connects Us” along with other “GoT” stars.
It looks like fans still have to wait for two more months to see if Hodor will return in the television series based on George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire.” The epic fantasy drama is set to be released on July 16 on HBO.
