Bruce Springsteen is very vocal about his hate towards the new President Donald Trump. And now with a help of a friend, his longtime collaborator Joe Grushecky, their feelings have been turned into a song.

The rock musician wrote a new anti-Trump tune titled “That’s What Makes Us Great” with the 67-year-old rock legend in vocals. Now, they are ready to take the stage and continuously express their distaste with the current POTUS.

‘That’s What Makes Us Great’

Grushecky told Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he had this new song that he and Springsteen have been talking about.

He, then, sent his piece to him and the latter liked it. After that, he instantly asked him if he wanted to sing it and that resulted in him giving it his trademark action.

The singer-songwriter can be heard protesting against Trump and even called him a “con man.” He even addressed the “alternative facts” singing, “Don’t tell me a lie / and sell it as a fact / I’ve been down that road before / and I ain’t going back.”

The lyrics continued with daring Trump not to brag about his habit of not reading a book as he will never put his faith in a con man like him. “It’s up to me and you / love can conquer hate / I know this to be true / that’s what makes us great,” the two sing together on the chorus.

The song is now available on Gruschecky's site.

A protest against Trump

Evidently, Springsteen and Gruschecky don’t shy away with their protests against Trump. In fact, the “Born in the U.S.A.” hitmaker called Melania Trump’s husband a “moron” and labeled his campaign as a "tragedy" to democracy.

And while in Australia after his inauguration, he described his travel ban as a fight for the democracy and primarily an anti-American action.

He even mocked the business-magnate-turned-politician's infamous call to the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

Springsteen fears Trump’s presidency

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Marc Maron on his famous “WTF” podcast, Springsteen revealed his fears of Trump’s leadership. However, he cleared that he was not writing a song about him by that time as he believed that it would take a long while before he can digest everything that was happening.

But, if he has a friend who has a song ready to be sung, he will be happy to sing along with it. Hence, Grushecky’s new writing. To recap - he had been openly campaigning for Hillary Clinton for the 2016 presidential campaign.

Grushecky, on the other hand, revealed he was turned off by the former television personality when he mocked a disabled reporter. He said that he was utterly disgusted when he heard the potential new leader of the state taking on a person with special needs.
