Over the last year, right-wing firebrand Tomi Lahren has become a rising star on social media, but she might be forced to have a new place of employment. After recent comments rubbed her employer at the Blaze TV the wrong way, Lahren could so be out of a job.

Tomi trouble

Since the start of the 2016 presidential election, social media has given increased visibility to people that wouldn't normally have found themselves in the spotlight. As Donald Trump has used Twitter as his number one form of communication, others have followed in his footsteps.

Social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube have also seen a rise in popularity, which helped give 24-year-old Tomi Lahren the ability to get over with conservative Americans. However, despite Lahren being a staunch supporter of Trump, she's recently made comments that didn't go over well with Glenn Beck, who employees her on the Blaze TV. As seen on Twitter on March 20, there appears to be an issue between the two.

Earlier this week, Tomi Lahren appeared on "The View." While she clashed with the more liberal hosts on the majority of the issues discussed, they found agreement when Lahren "came out" as pro-choice.

Backlash quickly resulted, leading to Lahren defending herself on Twitter. "I have moderate, conservative, and libertarian views. I'm human," she tweeted, before adding, "I will never apologize, to anyone, for being an independent thinker."

In response, Glenn Beck fired back on Twitter with a comment of his own.

"Wait, libertarian views? Help me out on Trumpcare, stimulus, and executive orders. Trump is anything but libertarian," Beck tweeted early Monday morning, before using the hashtag "#intellectualhonesty."

Next step

In addition to the Twitter exchange between the two, reports have also speculated that Glenn Beck no longer wants Tomi Lahren on his programming.

Lahren's contract is up in September, and as reported by Mediaite on March 20, she could be out before the fall, especially if the tension between both sides continues. Rumors have floated the idea that Lahren could end up on Fox News, though nothing is confirmed as of press time.
