It has been around 15 years since I saw vin diesel jumping off beautiful mountains and messing with the bad guys in "Xander Cage" A few years later, another sequel was released. Now, in 2017, we have another sequel titled "xXx: Return of Xander Cage" Let’s take a look at it.
This one is inspired by old movies
The film is directed by the well-known D.J. Caruso. This sequel is inspired by a lot of action scenes from the 80's movies. Honestly speaking, the movie doesn’t make any sense, which is what I expected. While the film is dumb, it is very entertaining as well.
It will make you laugh
Fortunately, the film is very tolerable and will make you laugh out loud the whole time. Yes, "Xander Cage" is energetic and can be seen jumping off tall towers without any parachutes on. You can even see him skiing down mountains without any problem. In the film, he is working for the CIA in order to locate a device known as the Pandora’s Box. The device is so powerful that it can track anyone at anytime. Moreover, the device can bring down satellites and missiles from the space as well.
The characters
In the movie, the hero works with a group of guys and meets another team of 'xXx' such as Tony Jaa, Donnie Yen and so on. Each of the characters has some special skills. They can be a deejay, crash vehicles and share their achievements on social media.
You also have a tech guru who can be seen making Lincoln jokes. He also has a sword.
It’s dumb yet funny
The movie is dumb, silly and offers so much fun. Fortunately, the movie doesn’t try to be serious at any time. Despite the fact that the film has so many action scenes, you won’t see anyone die in any scene. The characters don’t even get a scratch when fighting in the film.
While it defies logic, you still have a lot of fun watching the whole movie.
Performances
Of course, you will have some great, funny performances in the movie to enjoy, but here we will discuss Vin Diesel. First of all, I have no idea how he gets work. As far as my opinion goes, he is the worst actor in Hollywood. He is a good voice actor, but he can’t act.
Watching him act in a movie is a pain. Throughout the movie, you will see him without a shirt on. Other than that, you will find this film ridiculous, action-packed and fun. At times, it’s a good idea to turn your brain off and enjoy films like this.
Will we have more sequels?
So, can we expect more films of this type down the road? Well, I think there will be more of this, which is not a bad thing. After all, if these films have been a hit, the upcoming ones will also be liked. And this will continue to encourage the producers to keep making more films like this.
