Tiffany Trump wasn't the most popular person at a New York Fashion Week show as people reportedly scrambled to not sit by the 23-year-old. According to People magazine, a senior fashion editor at Elle tweeted that the show started late because of the “chaotic seating changes” as people found seating away from Trump.

Photos began to trickle out to social media as the fashion editors showed Tiffany sitting alone. Christina Binkley, who is a former Wall Street Journal fashion columnist, tweeted some of the photos with captions saying nobody wants to sit next to Donald Trump's daughter.

"Nobody wants to sit next to Tiffany Trump at Philipp Plein, so they moved and the seats by her are empty."

Indeed, Tiffany is pictured sitting alone as other spectators reportedly changed seats to avoid being next to the youngest Trump daughter. The Fashion Week snub not only made national headlines but also caught the attention of the ladies from The View.

Whoopi Goldberg speaks out in support of Tiffany Trump

In a move that surprised the public, The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg defended Tiffany against those who reportedly refused to sit next to her at the show. The Huffington Post quoted Goldberg as she said she would sit next to Tiffany at the upcoming shows. “You know what, Tiffany, I’m supposed to go to a couple more shows.

I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m coming to sit with you."

Whoopi went on to state it was mean for people to move seats as Tiffany was there to watch fashion, not to talk politics. The Huffington Post quoted Goldberg's defense: “Because nobody’s talking politics. You’re looking at fashion! She doesn’t want to talk about her dad!

She’s looking at the fashion!”

The site went on to quote Goldberg, who doesn't support President Trump, as calling the fashion editors' actions "mean." “I just thought it was mean. I don’t want to talk about your dad, but girl, I will sit next to you because I’ve been there, where people say we’re not going to sit next to you.

I’ll find your a** and sit next to you!”

Tiffany Trump's response to Whoopi Goldberg's offer

Despite their political differences, Tiffany happily accepted Whoopi's offer to sit together at the next fashion show. Tiffany took to Twitter to publicly respond to Goldberg's offer as she said she would love to sit with her, too.

However, the person responsible— Christina Binkley—for starting the whirlwind Fashion Week drama has since stated the seats around Tiffany remained empty for about two minutes. Binkley tweeted that no news outlet contacted her for comment on what really happened as reporters instead took her photos and tweets at face value.

However, Twitter users are claiming Binkley took advantage of the situation in which Tiffany was sitting along at the fashion show in an attempt to be mean to Trump's daughter. "What happened is you were trying to be mean and rude and it backfired."

It seems people aren't believing Christina's change of story as Twitter users say it appeared the fashion journalist was trying to be rude when it came to sharing the original posts of Tiffany. "...I saw her other tweets with people egging them on to be bullies. So pathetic."

What really happened with Tiffany Trump at Fashion Week

So far, there have been conflicting reports as the fashion editors, namely, Christina Binkley, try to backtrack as they claim Tiffany wasn't really sitting alone for that long.

Christina even was quoted by People as saying Trump didn't even notice the empty seats. "But I don’t think Tiffany really noticed that because she was active with her friends and the photographers.”

It may have just been a way for Binkley to generate attention as she clearly tweeted photos of Tiffany with captions stating people didn't want to be near her.

While Binkley may have over-exaggerated the story, it wasn't difficult for her to convince the public fashion editors scrambled to get away from Tiffany at NYFW—whether it's true or not.
