Tarek El Moussa appeared on this morning's episode of "Today" and during the episode, he revealed that he was not only diagnosed with thyroid cancer years ago, he was also diagnosed with testicular cancer just one month later. As his divorce drama with estranged wife Christina El Moussa continues to play out in the headlines, Tarek spoke to Al Roker and Sheinelle Jones about the shocking revelation.
During the episode, Tarek admitted that after his second diagnosis, he thought he was going to die and all he could think about was leaving his family.
Luckily, Tarek is currently healthy and after a messy split from Christina, he decided to come forward with the diagnosis in hopes of helping others who have struggled with the illness, or those who haven't yet discovered their own health battles.
Tarek wasn't suicidal after splitting from Christina
Also during his appearance on this morning's "Today" show, Tarek spoke out about a May 2016 incident at their Southern California home, during which he was accused of fleeing his home with a gun. As the hosts recalled, Tarek was accused of being suicidal at the time, but according to the television star, he had no intensions of harming himself during the incident, nor was he ever suicidal.
“There’s mountain lions, bobcats and rattlesnakes and big wildlife back there," Tarek explained of his decision to bring a gun with him after suddenly leaving home.
It wasn’t even a big deal... It got really blown out of proportion.”
Tarek is dedicated to HGTV's 'Flip or Flop'
