While Alec Baldwin is usually the highlight of "Saturday Night Live," it was the skit about White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer that stole the show. After Spicer's heated press conferences with the media over the last two weeks, they were a prime target for satire.

"SNL" on Spicer

After Donald Trump pulled off the upset win over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, the focus quickly shifted to who he would surround himself with in the White House.

In time, Trump tapped former spokesman for the Republican National Committee, Sean Spicer, to take on the role of press secretary. As Trump's feud with the media has only increased in recent weeks, the tension has spilled over to other members of his administration, including Spicer. As seen on the February 4 edition of "Saturday Night Live," Spicer was endlessly mocked by the cast in one of the top skits of the night.

Played by female actress Melissa McCarthy, the impression of Sean Spicer kicked of another political skit on "Saturday Night Live." The McCarthy version of Spicer roasted the press secretary over his unique demeanor, screaming "Settle down!

Settle down!" at the press. "I'm here to swallow gum. And I'm here to take names," McCarthy went on to say.

"Sean Spicer" then attacked each member of the press who asked questions, while mocking the heated relationship between the media and the Donald Trump administration. At one point, a CNN reporter was shown in a diaper, banished to the corner and locked in a cage. McCarthy continued, taking the podium and using it to attack members of the press who asked questions that were too difficult to answer, while also squirting reporters with a water gun. After bringing out a mock version of Betsy DeVos, the nominee for Education Secretary, she was also exposed for her ignorance about the job, which quickly led to the end of the segment shortly after.

Moving forward

As "Saturday Night Live" continues to mock Donald Trump, it's only a matter of time before the former host of "The Apprentice" fires back. In recent history, the billionaire real estate has made a habit out of lashing out at the show on Twitter, while calling for "SNL" to be pulled off the air.
