Last night, at the Piaget pre-party for the Independent Spirt Awards "Outlander" star Sam Heughan stepped out with his girlfriend, actress Mackenzie Mauzy. The pair have been dating for about a year, and are reportedly very serious.

This is not the first time that the "Outlander" actor has escorted Mackenzie Mauzy to events. Earlier this year, she was his date at the BAFTA Awards -- the first time that the two were photographed publicly. Sam also recently attended a family wedding with Mackenzie, and today, they were seen walking in Los Angeles together.

This, then, pretty much dispels any rumors that were released in the past that Sam Heughan was dating his "Outlander" co-star, Caitriona Balfe. Heughan, like Balfe, vehemently denied that he and his co-star were dating. In fact, he told People Magazine as much last year.

“It saddens me a bit but I guess that means we’ve done a good job. I don’t know. It’s a strange one. I’m still coming to terms with what it’s like to have people follow your personal life as well as your public life.

It gets amusing. But she’s just wonderful. We’re very good friends,” he said.

Recently, too, Sam Heughan had to defend Mackenzie Mauzy from death threats and harassment from so-called "shippers" of "Outlander." At one point, the threats against Mackenzie got so intense, and so terrible, that Sam Heughan got on his Twitter account to defend his girlfriend.

"Shameful behaviour by many on social media recently. It's disgusting and needs to stop. Spineless bullying. Stop. Now," he wrote on his Twitter.

Hopefully, now, with all of the public pictures of Sam Heughan and Mackenzie Mauzy together -- along with the public pictures of Caitriona Balfe and her boyfriend, Tony McGill, together -- the harassment against the actors, actresses, cast, crew, friends, journalists, and other fans by the so-called "super-shippers" will stop.

There are surely many fans that think Sam Heughan and Mackenzie Mauzy look amazing together, and wish them all the happiness in the world.
