"Orange Is The New Black" Season 5 is returning to Netflix just in time for a pre-summer binge! The entertainment company made the official announcement via social media on Wednesday, confirming that fans will be heading back to Litchfield prison on June 9, 2017, for the next batch of episodes of the hit series.

If you remember back to that one weekend you binge-watched Season 4, you probably recall that the show ended on a very low note. Viewers watched as the prison was turned upside down, Piper's panty business got some serious competition, Lolly was taken to the psych ward, and new lines were drawn in the sand.
Things went haywire in Litchfield and fans were forced to say goodbye to one of their favorite inmates, Poussey (played by actress Samira Wiley).
'OITNB' Season 5 plot rumors
So what can we expect from the new season of "Orange Is The New Black"? For starters, the upcoming 13 episodes will take place over a very short period of time -- three days, to be exact. It has been widely speculated that Season 5 will show the serious aftermath of Poussey's death and will continue to follow Lolly as she adjusts to a different kind of lifestyle.
One fan theory suggests that Piper Chapman (played by actress Taylor Schilling) will die in Season 5. If she doesn't, fans are expecting her to play a major role in the upcoming season.
It seems obvious that something will happen to Piper over that three-day period.
According to creator and showrunner Jenji Kohan, the upcoming episodes are going to be "very detailed" and "very intense." However, Kohan has not said much far beyond that. Fans know that they are in for a real doozy when the show returns and many are happy to free up their entire weekend to find out what happens next!

Taylor Schilling, Uzo Aduba, Laura Prepon, Kate Mulgrew, Danielle Brooks, Adrienne C. Moore, Jackie Cruz, Laverne Cox, Lea DeLaria, and Natasha Lyonne.
"Orange Is The New Black" will have at least two more seasons after its 5th.
