The much-awaited Making a Murderer” Season 2 will finally hit the small screen this year. Netflix’s VP of original content Cindy Holland has announced the official return of the documentary television series for 2017.

In 2015, the streaming service first revealed the American TV show. Since then, its followers have been waiting more following the story of the convicted Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey.

Second installment definitely coming

Holland revealed that that much-awaited docu-series will definitely come this year. In fact, it has been in the works and continuously filmed for quite a while now. “The story is still ongoing, so you will see new episodes coming sometime this year as this story continues to unfold,” she told USA Today.

Since the case of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey are still ongoing, fans can still expect more episodes are about to come. The second installment of the show will feature the most recent efforts that the two convicts’ lawyers have made in an attempt help them be acquitted.

Fans will soon see how their future will unfold in the next chapter.

‘Making a Murderer 2' release date not yet confirmed

Unfortunately, Netflix has yet to confirm the exact release date of the program on its channel. According to Holland, she is not even sure when the new episodes of the docu-series will be revealed. “We don’t know when for sure new episodes will be coming," she told the mentioned publication.

However, the show’s writers and directors Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos are now in Maniwotoc to film the web series regularly and selecting which story they will next offer to their viewers. Therefore, it will be these two showrunners decision as for when exactly the program will be officially out.

Meanwhile, Holland revealed that there are only few people behind the show that know the details of the upcoming new installment. “Very few people inside of Netflix actually know the details of what we’re getting because we’re wanting to keep it really under wraps and it is an ongoing case so we’re trying to be sensitive to that,” she explained.
