Happy birthday Kurt Cobain! The Nirvana front man would have been 50-years old today and based on the tribute that his daughter left on Instagram in his memory, no one misses him more than Frances Bean. She was just a baby when Cobain died at only 27-years old. The grunge band singer had become a music icon in the 1990s and his image was possibily bigger than anything he could live up to. On April 6, 1994, Cobain was found dead in his Seattle home.
Frances Bean pays tribute to her dad
To commemorate her dad's 50th birthday, Frances Bean wrote on Instagram, "Today would’ve been your 50th birthday.
You are loved and you are missed. Thank you for giving me The GIFT of Life. Forever your daughter, Frances Bean Cobain."

Frances Bean was only a baby when Kurt Cobain died. Many questions about his death are still unanswered but ultimately, his death was ruled a suicide. The father of grunge music is said to have shot himself in the head with a shotgun.
Kurt Cobain has been gone for nearly 23 years now and still, the world and the music industry have not forgotten him. Nirvana was a major influence on music and many modern musicians have cited Kurt Cobain as one of the most influencial on their style and careers.
Kurt Cobain, Nirvana inspired a new generation of music
Weezer even played a whole concert once with nothing but Nirvana covers. Blink 182, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake have paid homage to the music icon by incorporating his lyrics into their songs. Nirvana is the reason that many music lovers embraced grunge and continue listening to bands like his wife Courtney Love's group Hole.
The same goes for other now-iconic acts like Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, and Soundgarden.
Now, as we celebrate what would have been Kurt Cobain's 50th birthday, his daughter Frances Bean carries on his legacy. The young model recently let everyone know that she will be featured as the face of the 2017 Marc Jacobs spring ad campaign.
Many won't see how that relates to her dad, Kurt Cobain, but it does. Back when Frances Bean was just a baby, Marc Jacobs debuted the spring 1993 grunge collection. Soon after, Kurt was spotted holding his baby girl while sporting a "Grunge Is Dead" t-shirt from that collection. What a great way to carry on his memory and pay homeage to one of the most influencial musicians of that era.
