Did Scheana Shay start trouble at home with her now-estranged husband, Mike Shay, in an effort to remain on "Vanderpump Rules"?That's what his bandmate recently suggested. According to a new report, producers of the Bravo TV reality series allegedly encouraged Scheana to create drama with Mike -- and essentially chose her career over her marriage.
During an interview with Radar Online this week, Mike Shay's bandmate, Nicole Arbour, claimed the former couple was informed that if they didn't strum up more drama they would be fired from the series for not being interesting enough.
In turn, Arbour claimed, the singer and SUR Restaurant server reportedly did what she could to stay on the show, which led to "so many" problems in her marriage.
Mike and Scheana Shay got married in August 2014 and their wedding was featured on a 2015 episode of "Vanderpump Rules." One year later, the couple began feuding over Mike's reported addiction to pills.
Mike didn't want to be involved in the 'Vanderpump Rules' drama
As Arbour explained, Mike wasn't on board with the producers' alleged request to create drama amongst themselves, but when he told that to Scheana, she reportedly informed him that she was going to do as she was told for the sake of her career and encouraged him to support her.
At that point, their relationship was said to have become volatile.
“She’s really mean to him," Arbour said, adding that they simply don't communicate with one another. “They can’t speak," she added. "[Scheana's] yelling at him and telling him he’s doing things wrong or they’re not making noise.”
Mike didn't go missing
While Scheana Shay suggested that her husband had gone missing prior to their divorce announcement, Arbour claimed that was never the case and said Scheana was “full of s**t” for suggesting that was the case during her recent appearance on "Watch What Happens Live."
For more of Scheana Shay and her husband, Mike Shay, don't miss new episodes of "Vanderpump Rules" season five, which air on Monday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
