More than 24 hours after "Dancing with the Stars" pro champ Maksim Chmerkovskiy shared an Instagram photo of pregnant fiancee Peta Murgatroyd applying make-up in a hospital bed, uncle-to-be Valentin Chmerkovskiy shared an update with curious fans via Instagram on Jan. 3.

No Baby Chmerkovskiy just yet

According to the video clip and caption, Peta Murgatroyd had not yet given birth as of 2:30 PM Eastern time on Tuesday, but he teased that the blessed event would happen in the very near future. He added "family means the most to me so I'm with them now," which means that he will be absent during tonight's "DWTS" tour performance in Richmond, Virginia.

He promised to make it up to disappointed fans who plan to attend the show.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy first let fans know that Baby Chmerkovskiy's arrival was imminent when he shared a pair of Instagram posts yesterday morning, which just happened to be the little one's official due date, according to previous reports. The first was a silent video shot from inside a car traveling along city streets, and the second was an image of Murgatroyd lying in a hospital bed. Since then, the 36-year old professional dancer has been silent on social media.

'DWTS' duo eager to welcome son

Ever since they confirmed they were expecting their first child late last spring, Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have chronicled the pregnancy via social media. A pair of blue baby booties positioned on Murgatroyd's 30th birthday cake in July revealed that the tot was a boy. They've also shared images from a variety of additional events, including their recent baby shower in New York, which included appearances by "Dancing with the Stars" alums Amber Rose (who has been romantically linked with Val Chmerkovskiy and who was partnered with the elder Chmerkovskiy during season 23) and all-star season pro champion Tony Dovolani.

Although "DWTS" will return to ABC this spring, neither of the new parents will be part of the cast. Chmerkovskiy told Entertainment Tonight last year that he has "zero interest" in returning to the show, since "there's no money on the planet" that would make missing the first few months of his child's life worthwhile.
