TV and film icon Cloris Leachman has decided to slow her roll down a bit these days. The actress, who recently celebrated her 90th birthday is said to have become more reliant on her wheelchair, refusing to take even a few steps some days. New reports reveal that Cloris' slower lifestyle has some family and friends growing a bit concerned because they are not accustomed to her less than zesty lifestyle.

Cloris Leachman takes Gene Wilder's death hard

Leachman's closest pals reveal that Cloris is just not quite the same these days, especially after recently losing her very close friend and "Young Frankenstein" co-star Gene Wilder just a few weeks ago. Friends state that Cloris does her best to keep a smile on her face when she runs into fans asking for autographs, but they can tell it is getting harder and harder for her each day.

It was just months ago that Cloris relied on her metal walker to help aid her in getting around, but these days she justs appears to grow weaker and more frail by the day.

Keep in mind that Leachman is now 90-years-old, she is entitled to rest a bit. But despite her age, Leachman continues to push on, refusing to give up her acting career with her latest project "American Gods" for Starz set to debut early next year.

Cloris Leachman speaks at her hometown high school

Always one to give back, Cloris recently traveled back to her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa to give a speech at her old high school to drama students, encouraging them to keep reaching for their dreams, giving advice, and sharing her own story. Leachman's rep has admitted that these days Cloris does prefer to use her wheelchair when she is not filming. Leachman has joked at her age that she has spent a lot of time standing on her feet and prefers to be driven over walking these days.

The former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant recently talked openly about her real relationship with actress Betty White, stating that so many people seem to think that she and White are best friends, but that is untrue. Cloris claims that when she and Betty are working together that is all it is, work. When the work day is done Betty goes one way, and she prefers going home to spend her time with those she loves the most, her family. Cloris Leachman's last TV comedy role was from 2010-2014 as the hilarious and eccentric Maw Maw on "Raising Hope."
