Andrea Tantaros is finally breaking her silence about what happened at Fox News that resulted in her vanishing from Fox’s Outnumbered. Since Tantaros’ disappearance from the network in April this year, fans have repeatedly asked why Andrea left Fox News and why she is not saying anything to her fans.

Why Tantaros is speaking up now

The new development in the Andrea Tantaros saga came on Monday when the Fox News host’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, told the New York Magazine that the real reason behind Tantaros having disappeared from the network was due to her having filed sexual harassment complaints against former Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes.

According to the complaints, Ailes asked Tantaros to “twirl” for him in his office so he could take a closer look at her figure.

Andrea Tantaros, who did not consider Ailes’ request to see her in a bikini as a compliment, did report Ailes’ recurring unprofessional treatment of her to Fox executive vice-president Bill Shine, senior vice-president Suzanne Scott, and general counsel Dianne Brandi. According to attorney Burstein, Tantaros had filed formal workplace harassment complaints as far back as April 30, 2015. However, Fox executives apparently never followed up on any of the complaints.

What Fox News did regarding Andrea Tantaros

Instead of having to investigate Andera Tantaros’ sexual harassment complaints against Ailes, Fox News executives were blessed by the conservative host’s book Tied Up in Knots: How Getting What We Wanted Made Women Miserable.

The fan-favorite Outnumbered host’s last appearance on the show was on April 25. Tantaros’ book was published just one day later on April 26.

Instead of firing Tantaros, Fox claimed that the book’s cover, showing Andrea with her hands raised and all tied up in knots, was a violation of her contract. Fox attorneys stated that the former Outnumbered host was suspended with pay because she did not allow the network to scrutinized her book before it was published. Apparently, the  “contract issues,” as the network called it, prevented Andrea Tantaros from sharing with her fans what was truly happening – until now.
