A lot of video games have different ways of making their gameplay interesting and one of them is the difficulty. Some players are more involved and invested in a game if it has a lot of interesting challenges. Passing a stage which is difficult would be a big achievement for any player.

There are only a few Video Game Franchises that I consider to be difficult to play for any casual gamer. As any pro gamer would say, the only way to beat these games is to “git gud” or get better in playing. Here are my top 4 difficult video game franchises to play this year.

‘Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy’

“Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy” is a remaster of the three game titles of the popular franchise. The new version is overly difficult compared to the older versions. Players have confirmed its difficulty due to its new features.

Some players report that the game became difficult due to better FPS (frame per second). As a result, the gameplay is faster than the older versions.

‘Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor/War’

Monolith Productions and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s “Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor” and “Shadow of War” counts as a difficult video game to play. While Talion ( the main character) has special Wraith powers, the orc captains and war chiefs get difficult with the Nemesis system.

They learn new abilities and adapt against certain attacks, which will make almost invincible.

Players will have a harder time in defeating their opponents with the game’s system. These orc captains will also hunt them down if they become enemies again, survive, or get humiliated.

‘NiOh’

“NiOh” is the Japanese equivalent of the “dark souls” game franchise.

The only difference is the location and the speed of the gameplay. Players like its gameplay speed because it makes it easier for them to adapt to certain duel situations.

Epic duels are also present in this game, which is just like the old Japanese duels. They can fight against one or two opponents without the nuisance of regular enemies.

It can get intense at times with the rivals’ deadly attacks.

‘Dark Souls’ game franchise

The one that made the “git gud” phrase popular was the “Dark Souls” game franchise. A lot of players get frustrated with its gameplay, but they also love it at the same time. It has several difficult boss enemies to fight that can either kill players in one hit, induce status effects, and more.

While the boss enemies are hard to defeat, the regular monsters are difficult to beat as well. They are especially frustrating to kill if they gang up on the players.
