Hillary Clinton has been making talk show rounds to promote her new book, "What Happened." Unsurprisingly, she blames white people, sexists, Joe Biden, the New York Times, Bernie Sanders, the Russians, and even her now-revealed FBI protector, James Comey, among the countless others.

She also has made some inadvertently Twitter-worthy pop cultural comparisons to her plight. In a bid for sympathy, she compared herself to "Game of Thrones" villainess Cersei Lannister.

She wrote: "Crowds at Trump rallies called for my imprisonment more times than I can count. They shouted, 'Guilty! Guilty!' like the religious zealots in 'Game of Thrones' chanting 'Shame! Shame!' while Cersei Lannister walked back to the Red Keep."

Returning to the Cersei Lannister comparison later, a more immediate historical predecessor for Hillary Clinton might be Jiang Qing, the widow of Mao Tse-tung. She was the most powerful woman in China during the Cultural Revolution and former leader of the notorious Gang of Four.

Jiang Qing lusted for power while husband abused his

Submit for your consideration:

  • 1) Ambitious woman puts her own career on hold to support and promote her husband's.
  • 2) As husband's power grows, she bristles that she can only make "suggestions," and the final decision authority rests with her husband.
  • 3) Her husband's proclivities toward repeated infidelity create a quid pro quo where she will overlook his indiscretions in return for his tacit support of her left-wing politics. A primary tactic to be deployed is the elimination of enemies, a.k.a., whoever is a threat to her goal of accumulating power. As many of these enemies oppose her husband, it is a bonus in his estimation.
  • 4) Purges of governmental positions accompanied by ruined reputations, conveniently coincidental deaths of enemies and potential leakers, control of mass medial to become a de facto propaganda arm, and harnessing the idealistic younger generation to violently enforce thought control and demonization of critics are all weapons in her arsenal.
  • 5) She becomes feared for her temper and ruthlessness by her bodyguards and her husband's associates.

These are all facets of the the life of Qiang Jing, but could just as easily describe Hillary Clinton.

Mao and Bill Clinton both were notorious womanizers who flaunted their indiscretions in front of their ambitiously power hungry wives and gave their consent for their wives to exercise power in their name.

Jiang Qing is believed to be responsible for the tortures and deaths of rival Zhou Enlai's children, among many others. The mysterious deaths of former DNC head Ron Brown, former personal attorney Vince Foster (both before giving testimony that would be potentially damaging to the Clintons), and over 40 others associated with the Clintons have been an ill-kept secret for decades.

During the Cultural Revolution, Mao and Jiang essentially controlled all information dissemination through the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and outside news outlets were banned until Nixon reopened China later in the 1970s.

The introduction of "simplified" Chinese characters, purportedly to increase literacy throughout China, had the added propaganda-enhancing benefit of rendering traditional Chinese newspapers from Taiwan or Hong Kong incomprehensible to the newly literate mainlanders.

The fawning of the mainstream media over the Clintons and Obama resulted in the unequivocal sacrifice of objective news by the NY Times, Washington Post, ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC. These outlets became, for all intents and purposes, the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party and their attack dog to promote "The Resistance."

How else to explain the complete lack of reporting on the multi-billion dollar pay for play scandals of the Clinton Foundation (now essentially shut down after Hillary lost)?

How else to justify lack of coverage over blatant lies and violations over the handling of classified information for which people who have committed lesser offences have been doing jail time? There are numerous other examples.

As a promoter of The Resistance, Hillary Clinton shares some responsibility for their Red Guard equivalent, Antifa. With heads full of leftist propaganda and righteous indignation justifying violence against anyone who thinks differently, ANTIFA employs thuglike tactics espoused by Hillary and Obama guru Saul Alinsky.

ANTIFA has also been given the velvet glove treatment from the mainstream media, even in the face of physically attacking innocents randomly on the street who may support "wrong" causes.

However, just like when the Gang of Four and the Red Guard fell out of favor after the death of Zhou, even the mayor of Berkeley, CA is now designating ANTIFA as a gang.

Hillary Clinton's abuse of her Secret Service detail is legendary; being assigned to her was often viewed as a punishment. Jiang Qing's similar disdain and high-handed elitism was not lost on her guards, who faced disgrace and possible imprisonment for "counter revolutionary anti Chairman Mao" thought if any were to voice their annoyance and it were to be picked up by eavesdropping informants.

'Game of Thrones' and the 2016 election parallels

An irreverent blog post on Reason.com also cited the Hillary Clinton "Game of Thrones" reference.

Here is a paraphrased summation of their differences:

  • 1) An entitled narcissist supporting a despised, lecherous husband out of political expediency;
  • 2) She insisted it was now her time to rule (though events would prove otherwise);
  • 3) Preferred the counsel of brown nosers and yes men to competent advisers who could actually render assistance;
  • 4) Punished imagined enemies out of misplaced revenge;
  • 5) Escaped judgment and justice of the people;
  • 6) Used underhanded cheating tactics to destroy her main rival—a populist obsessed with wealth inequality;
  • 7) Fails to comprehend why her country's people prefer a plainspoken political neophyte over her.

The other sleeps with her twin brother.
