Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, was revealed to be working for AT&T as they look to merge with Time Warner. In response, Trump quickly lashed out on social media but didn't get the best reaction.

Trump on Cohen

In recent weeks, the scandal involving Michael Cohen has dominated the headlines, leading to even more trouble for the White House.

It started back in January when the Wall Street Journal reported that Cohen had paid adult film star Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about her previous alleged affair with the president. Since them, new information has been leaked that shows Cohen reportedly took close to $500,000 from a Russian oligarch to gain access to the president. The latest news notes that Cohen had been working for AT&T as a political consultant as they look to merge with Time Warner, which is currently awaiting government approval.

With the pressure mounting, Donald Trump made sure to fire back during a tweet on May 11.

"Why doesn’t the Fake News Media state that the Trump Administration’s Anti-Trust Division has been, and is, opposed to the AT&T purchase of Time Warner in a currently ongoing Trial," Trump tweeted. "Such a disgrace in reporting!" he concluded. As expected, those who oppose the commander in chief took time to hit back.

Twitter reacts

After Donald Trump responded to the news that Michael Cohen was getting paid by AT&T to advice them on their potential merger with Time Warner, critics wasted no time giving their own thoughts. "We don’t believe you Trump! It’s just that you’re a bold faced LIAR!!" Bishop Talbert Swarn tweeted out, before adding, "How much dirty money has your boy Cohen been paid Trump??

You are the most crooked POTUS in HISTORY! You make Tricky D*ck look like a choir boy!"

"You think that makes taking money for access is OK? You’re going down, bub," a Twitter user wrote. "So your personal lawyer just got bribed for no reason then..." an additional tweet wondered. "You are a disgrace to this country," yet another tweet noted.

"Donald, do you know how much it takes to keep lying? Oh I forgot, that's all you do," a post pointed out.

"Drain The Swamp my ass. You and your people are the Swamp," a social media user wrote. "Didn’t it take a lawsuit to be filed against the administration first,' a follow-up tweet went on to read. The negative reaction continued to pour in as the opposition to Donald Trump and his entire team shows no signs of coming to an end.
