Donald Trump, Nobel Peace Prize winner? Don’t scoff, it may just happen. This is another great example of “never say never!” On the heels of South Korean President Moon Jae-in holding a historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, the possibility of Trump receiving the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize is becoming a very real possibility.

Changing the world for the better

Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un are two of the most polarizing figures on the planet, and like them or not, at this moment in time they both can change the world for the better. Yes, Trump and Jong-un could be leading the way towards the beginning of world peace.

Let that sink in for a minute.

While there are no guarantees that President Trump and Kim Jong-un will have a successful meeting sometime this summer, the odds of starting to find compromises are looking better each day.

Just the fact that Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in met, shook hands and actually seemed cordial with one another is a big step in the right direction for everyone in North and South Korea, however, you can’t blame South Korean residents and the rest of the world for being a bit skeptical. North Korea has shown signs of wanting a peaceful resolution in the past, only to back out as quickly as they jumped in.

If all goes well between the North Korean leader and the American President, some serious changes, for the better, in the world may actually begin taking place.

Bookmakers odds for 2018 Nobel Peace Prize

If someone told you two years ago that Donald Trump would defeat Hillary Clinton and become the 45th President of the United States, and oh, by the way, Trump will have a huge impact on North Korea beginning serious talks about shutting down their nuclear weapons program, you would have probably laughed.

Well, it is happening, at least the first stages of the process are, and for that reason, many sportsbooks have Trump and Jong-un listed as the favorites to win the coveted award.

According to a Bloomberg report, one of the top British bookmakers has Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un as favorites to take home the coveted prize. Coral sportsbook has both Trump and Kim listed at 2/1 odds to win the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize.

Other possible nominees include Pope Francis, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and Saudi activist Raif Badawi, among others. Also, let us not forget about South Korea’s Moon Jae-in. If talks go as well at Friday’s summit between Moon Jae-in and Mr. Kim, leading to peace between the two Korean leaders, it would be hard to argue against both deserving a Nobel Peace Prize.
