After a crazy start to the week in Washington, Donald Trump and his team have done their best to come up with talking points that fit their defense. While taking questions from reporters during the latest press briefing, Sarah Huckabee Sanders did her best to defend the president.
.@jonkarl: "Does the president believe he has the power to fire special counsel Robert Mueller? Does he believe that's within his power?"@PressSec: "He certainly believes he has the power to do so." https://t.co/BBycoSDMsK pic.twitter.com/rVOchocz8E

Sanders on Trump
Starting off the week for Donald Trump was the news that the FBI raided the office of Michael Cohen, his own personal lawyer, in regards to the payments he allegedly made in the form of "hush money" to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Trump reacted with anger, referring to the FBI's actions as a "witch hunt" that was a "disgrace" to the country. The former host of "The Apprentice" took to Twitter to double down on his criticism, continued to defend Cohen as a "good man." In addition, questions continue to be raised about whether or not Trump would fire Rod Rosenstein, the Deputy Attorney General, who signed off the on FBI raid in question, as well as Russian investigation special counsel Robert Mueller.
Does Michael Cohen still represent President Trump? “I’m not sure,” Sarah Huckabee Sanders says. “I’d refer you to Michael Cohen on that.”

With the pressure mounting, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders took questions and did her best to deflect, as reported by ABC News on April 10.
When asked if Donald Trump believes he has the power to fire Robert Mueller, Sanders simply replied, "He certainly believes he has the power to do so." Sanders was then grilled multiple times on where the president stands on the Stormy Daniels scandal, as well as the FBI raid of Michael Cohen, but decided to deflect each and every question with a no comment.
.@PressSec cuts off @JaxAlemany line of Qs about Cohen/Stormy Daniels payment by saying she's "short on time today" because of the WH visit of the Alabama football team in the next hour...

"I believe Sarah Huckabee Sanders has failed to answer a single question yet. Unless of course you consider 'The president has been clear, I don't have anything to add' an answer. I do not," Christina Reynolds of Emily's List tweeted out. (SHS) stonewalling every question about Trump's reaction to Cohen and Mueller," a social media user wrote.
