One talking point commonly used by Donald Trump is that he's been able to draw big crowds to his campaign-style speeches and rallies. For First Daughter Ivanka Trump, she doesn't have the same luck as her father.

Ivanka in Tokyo

When Donald Trump first announced that he was running for president, not many people gave him a realistic shot at success. As time moved on, it became clear that the former host of "The Apprentice" was picking up steam and many wondered what impact his family would have if he was able to make it to the White House.

One month prior to Election Day, the now infamous "Access Hollywood" tape was released which caught Trump on audio tape bragging about using his celebrity to be able to touch women. In the four weeks that followed, nearly a dozen women came forward to accuse Trump of various acts of sexual assault and harassment. Despite this, the billionaire real estate mogul was able to weather the storm and defeat Hillary Clinton last November. Since then, Trump's questionable history with women has raised its head on more than one occasion, which led to an awkward reaction to Ivanka Trump's recent speech about women's empowerment, as reported by TIME Magazine on November 3.

Ivanka Trump made her way to Tokyo, Japan this week and on Friday took part in the "World Assembly for Women" event. During her speech, Ivanka said that "all too often, our workplace culture fails to treat women with appropriate respect." "This takes many forms, including harassment, which can never be tolerated," she continued.

"Our workplaces and our public policies must mirror our values: work and family," Ivanka Trump went on to say. Not stopping there, Ivanka also noted, "It is time for our societies to find new and innovative ways to make it easier for women to experience the joy of motherhood without facing major career setbacks." Despite being advertised to attend the event, the crowd was thin, with the first daughter speaking to mostly empty chairs, while many across social media were quick to express their opposition.

Twitter reacts

In response to the content of Ivanka Trump's speech and the sparsely filled room, critics of Donald Trump and the White House made sure to sound off. "Are you bringing mini skirts back? That's proper business attire ? You are not a high-schooler, besides Justin wasn't there," one tweet read.

"Either irony is dead, or this is Ivanka's cry for help," another tweet added. "Unless it is my Dad....That is just Locker-room talk and should be ignored," one Twitter user sarcastically said in the tone of the first daughter.

"Your daddy is the Republican version of Weinstein. Grab em by the pu$$y," yet another tweet stated. "If Ivanka speaks at a summit, and no one is there to hear it, does she make a sound?" one post wondered. The backlash continued as the opposition to the president and Ivanka Trump moved forward.
