Ivanka Trump, the daughter of United States president Donald Trump, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dined together at one table during an event hosted by Fortune on October 10, Vanity Fair reported. The event was known as “Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit” held in Washington, D.C.
The White House adviser and Trudeau both delivered their speeches during the event. They were seated together at dinner and were joined by Sophie Trudeau, the wife of the Canadian Prime Minister.
This was not the first time that the two major political figures met with each other.
In February, they were also photographed sitting together during the prime minister’s visit to the United States. The photos of Ivanka staring at Trudeau at the table went viral.
In March, the prime minister also watched a Broadway play titled “Come From Away” with President Trump’s daughter and Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, the report added.
Social media
Ivanka Trump’s husband Jared Kushner was not present during the event in the U.S. capital. The meeting of the two prominent figures also made trends on social media.
A Twitter user commented, “This is fascinating. Ivanka has a crush on Trudeau.” The Canadian prime minister sported a sleek formal attire, while the presidential daughter wore a white dress with a deep cut on the neckline.
After his appearance in this event hosted by Fortune, he headed to a meeting with President Trump about the negotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement. The president has openly discussed his plans for global trade during his campaign in 2016.
In the gathering, Trudeau talked about the gender-unbiased cabinet of his government and recalled how they “actively encouraged women” to seek government positions back in 2015.
He also discussed the differences in reactions when women “run for politics” as opposed to the questions asked of men.
“If you ask a man, his first question is usually, ‘What took you so long to ask me?’” the Canadian PM said. He was also placed in an awkward situation during the gala.

Awkward situation
The Canadian PM was asked to comment about his relations with President Trump while Ivanka listened from her table.
The audience in Washington, D.C. also booed when the moderator mentioned her father’s name during the summit.
There were also other speakers in the Fortune summit who bravely took a delicate tirade against the incumbent administration in the United States. The White House adviser also listened to these speeches, GlobalNews.ca reported.
