Megan Barry – the Mayor Of Nashville - and her husband Bruce woke up to the devastating news on July 30 that their only son Max passed away after an apparent Drug overdose.

Megan Barry is the first female Mayor of Nashville and was sworn in in 2015. He was sitting right beside her during the swearing-in ceremony and looked the happiest once she was done giving her speech.

Cause of death

It is unclear whether the 22-year-old overdosed on opioids, which has been the reason for the death of several people in the USA. A CDC study has shown that six out of ten overdoses are caused by opioids. Alarmingly, drug overdose claims the lives of at least 91 people each day in the country.

Melinda Rose, a spokesperson for the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office stated that Max was found dead in a suburb area of Denver called Littleton after an apparent drug overdose. The medical team has already conducted an autopsy and are still awaiting the reports. It is not yet clear which drug he overdosed on.

On the other hand, Raquel Lopez, the Denver Police spokeswoman stated that the police records about the incident which has all the information about the death could not be released as it would be a violation of the victim’s identity according to the policy of the police.

T A visitation was held on Monday, July, 31, at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music. This was followed by a memorial service on Tuesday, August 1, morning at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville. The 22-year-old's memorial was an emotional affair with both family and friends sharing that max was a wonderful soul and a free spirit.
