It sometimes pays to be the target of President Donald Trump’s Twitter ire. For “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski, being the subject of the president’s vile tweets was a blessing in disguise.
First, after Trump described her alleged botched facelift as bleeding badly, the June 30 episode of her show with Joe Scarborough on MSNBC got 1.66 million viewers. The boost in ratings happened on Friday, the day after Trump tweeted. Mika and Joe, instead of going on a weekend leave, returned on air to answer the president’s tweets.
New book deal
Second, the Twitter war with the billionaire made Weinstein Books, a publisher, take a second look at Mika as an author.
The company, which published in 2011 her Book “Knowing Your Value,” signed her a three-book deal. Page Six reported that the deal is in the high six figures.
Besides two new books, Mika will write a revised edition of “Knowing Your Value: Women, Money, and Getting What You’re Worth.” She will release the revised version next spring. It will feature interviews with women trailblazers who were recognized in business and personal relationships.
The second book would be titled “Comeback Careers” and the third will be aimed at millennials who are entering the job market. The two books are slated for release also in fall 2018 which is also the schedule of Mika's “Know Your Value” conference series for women who are career oriented.
New house also?
Along with the news of three upcoming books for Mika, the Boston Globe reported she and Joe are searching for a new house. The couple announced their engagement in May and spent the July 4 holiday looking at homes in Nantucket Island. Joe frequently spends his vacation in the island.
After Trump’s tweet against the couple, Mika and Joe went to Nantucket for a respite.
Joe said the president’s tweet in which Trump called him “Psycho Joe” and Mika “low I.Q. Crazy Mika” did not affect them. “My family brought me up really tough. This is absolutely nothing,” he said. The TV host, however, said he is concerned by what the incident once again revealed about the character of the president.
There are speculations from media that Trump writes vile tweets to create a distraction from negative issues he or his family is involved.
When the president tweeted against the two co-hosts, his fake Time magazine cover was the hot topic. Now that Donald Jr. is in hot water over a meeting with a Russian lawyer, Trump once more created a Twitter war with Chelsea Clinton as his target.
