A Pregnant Woman threw a Gender Reveal party but it turned out deadly after two gunmen fired on the party goers. One died and eight more people were wounded from the shooting.

The incident took place in Colerain Township near Cincinnati. Police identified the deceased as 22-year-old Autum Garrett, who was from Huntington, Indiana. She celebrated the gender reveal party of her cousin on Saturday and died on Sunday morning. Her cousin, who was not identified, revealed during the party that she was having a baby boy. The pregnant woman was shot in the leg and lost her baby.

Police released details about shooting

USA Today reported that the party already ended but some of friends and relatives stayed. They were set to watch a “Spider-Man” flick but the two gunmen went inside the home. They started shooting when they got inside.

Two handguns were used in the attack and there was no one from the people inside the home who returned fire but a gun was found outside the home. It is unclear if the gun belonged to one of the two gunmen or to those who were left behind after the gender reveal party. The motive for the attack is still unknown and police said they did not know how many shots were fired.

Who are the victims

There were eight people injured from the shooting. Three of them are children whose ages are eight, six and two.

Garrett died due to multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The children did not suffer from serious injuries and were treated at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Two more adults remained at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center hours after the shooting while the others have been released.

Colerain Township Police Chief Mark Denney said in a statement, “I want to express our deepest sympathies to the victims and families.” He noted that the matter is of significance because children were involved, New York Post said.

No arrests made yet

There have been no arrests made yet as of Sunday. Denney said that the victims are cooperating with the police but there has been no solid lead yet as to who could have attacked them.

One witness, who was not inside the home, said she was sitting outside a car and saw two men, one wearing a blue hoodie and the other a green hoodie, went inside the home and later she heard gunshots. She saw the two men ran out of the home shortly thereafter. It is unclear if they were the targets of the gunmen.
