Cornell found dead on the bathroom floor
As per a report from Variety, it has been said that Cornell's wife asked his friend to check on him. His friend was forced to open the door and he found the singer dead on the bathroom floor.
Right then, he was pronounced dead at the age of 52. Further, some reports revealed that his family was shocked upon learning his unexpected passing. Meanwhile, his wife Vicky together with their children will be working closely to the medical examiners in order to find out the real cause of his suicide.
Brian Bumbery, a representative of Mr. Cornell, revealed in a statement that his death was unexpected and sudden. Their band has just performed at the Fox Theater in Detroit on Wednesday night and they are also supposed to perform in Columbus, Ohio on Friday night.
Meanwhile, the powerful band frontman appeared to be active in the social media hours before he ended his life. One of his recent tweets announced that his group has finally arrived in Detroit and a clip of their band's performance was also posted on his Facebook page.
Cornell struggles with drug use?
Amidst the death of Mr. Cornell, investigators are looking very closely to whatever may be the cause for him to commit suicide. In one of his interviews, it can be recalled that he admitted struggling with drug use throughout his life. He even has described himself as a daily drug user at the age of 13 but has stopped when he was 14.
However, when Soundgarden disbanded in 1997, it has been reported that the singer has been hooked again to heavy drug use and he has even gone through rehab. Apparently, medical examiners and investigators are closely looking on this history since it may give answers on why he ended his life.

Meanwhile, Cornell will always be remembered as one of the most prominent frontmen of Soundgarden.
They were able to bring the Seattle's music to the national stage in the late 1980s and 1990s. The Soungarden's music has touched a lot of hearts since most of their songs were laden with emotions and more often than not, emotions were anger.
