Chelsea Clinton has routinely criticized Donald Trump since he became president, but she's defending him after a celebrity posted a disgusting photo many arguably find in bad taste. Comedienne, Kathie Griffin, posted a macabre photo on social media mocking the president. The image outraged Chelsea when Griffin held up a bloodied mask suggesting Trump was decapitated. The post also got a reaction from Donald Trump, Jr.

Donald Trump mask unacceptable to former first daughter

Kathie Griffin shared with her followers a photo session in which she made fun of the president in a gruesome way.

The comedienne used Donald's feud with Megyn Kelly as a muse for her caption when she wrote "there was blood coming out of his eyes, blood coming out of his...wherever," and thanked @tylershields for a great Photog/film maker.

Donald Trump, Jr. expressed his anger by stating that the photo was "disgusting," but unsurprising. He went on that the image illustrates how the left has gotten so extreme that they consider Kathie Griffin's photo "acceptable." The president's son added that if conservatives did the same thing to Obama as POTUS, they'd be up in arms over it.

CNN's Jake Tapper asked a panel of contributors if they found the gross photo offensive and they all agreed there are bigger fish to fry than worrying about Kathie Griffin.

It wasn't a topic of discussion after that short assessment.

The image is disturbing and morbid.

Other celebrities have also blasted Griffin for her photo-op, such Alyssa Milano and Debra Messing. Both thought Kathie should've known better and scolded her for taking part in something so inappropriate. Despite some of the liberals' disdainful views of Donald Trump, the mask photo was largely deemed repulsive. Chelsea Clinton has made her feelings known about Trump and his policies, so her berating Griffin for the photo put in perspective just how unacceptable it was.

Griffin defends grisly photo

Griffin defended her post by saying she doesn't condone any violence against Donald Trump, but is "merely mocking the Mocker in Chief." Her message was viewed as wrong and highly inappropriate. No matter how someone feels about Donald Trump as the U.S. president, it's taking disrespect to a whole different level when violence is seemingly promoted. While the star plays down her actions, it's unquestionably sick.

How do you feel about Kathie Griffin posing in a photo with a severed head mask of Donald Trump? Is she trying to remain relevant by sparking controversy? Most of Hollywood opposes Trump, but they aren't using graphic and vile humor to make their point.
